Yard Project #1
This summer, I find myself just a little jealous every morning when I have to drag myself out of bed before the crack of dawn and go to work while my school teacher husband gets to stay in bed and stay home all day (well, now that summer baseball is over). But I am so proud and thankful to him for some of the summer projects he has taken on, and is determined to finish sooner than later. Project #1 is finished as of today (with the help of Kyle and Fred) and so here are some start to finish pictures.
This is the right side of our house before the renovation started.
I took this picture from the back door step. The backyard fence originally stopped at the back of the house.

Tim is watching our neice and nephews this summer so they have been helping with the project. Tim and Evan raking the rocks off here.

The measurements are taken for the garden boxes and the new fence posts are in concrete here.

The outside boards for the boxes are built.

Kyle and the boys helped Tim haul the dirt one day. Thank you guys!

Silly monkey boys!

Boxes are built, dirt in place, ready to plant!

It was fun picking out our new plants at Home Depot! Grow plants grow! We planted yellow squash, zuccini squash, a watermellon and cantelope, lots of tomatoes, green peppers, and yellow peppers. You'll notice the new drip watering system Tim installed also provides some extra entertainment for Sophie who loves trying to catch the water when it sprays!
