Opening Day Reno Aces Baseball
Our date to the game on Friday was awesome! We waited in line for a while for the gates to open and when we came through, we got a commemorative lapel pin that says Reno Aces opening night. Yay for free stuff! The line for the team store was too long so we made our way through the mass of people and emptied our wallets on overpriced, but very yummy pulled pork bbq sandwiches, and sat in our seats. They really did a good job on the field and the seats. You can see the game perfect from anywhere in the stadium. Here are a few pics of the night, and one of our good friends Cameron and Christa who joined us the next night. Tim went Sunday afternoon too.......and that is where he is tonight.....ahem...you would think the boy would eventually need a break from baseball but, apparently not!
Here is a picture of the Reno Aces ballpark, i.e. Tim's true love...and me, his wife. *sigh*
Introducing the Reno aces (in white) and the Salt Lake Bees...
Jets flying over during the national anthem...awesome!
Me and my baby!
Beautiful field and great view! Baseball...what a great American sport!
Ok, all I have to say is what in the world is it???!!! This is the Reno Aces mascot, Archie. He is basically a large, furry red blob. Please make note of the large tongue in his mouth which is a puppet in which the wearer can put an arm in and stick out....weird! Why they didn't have a playing card as the mascot is beyond me! Like the one on Alice and Wonderland. Copyright issues I am sure. Doesn't it look like a red Grimmace from McD's???
This is the singing baseball that creeps up above the wall for the 7th- inning-stretch to sing 'Take me out to the ball game'. Its mouth moves as it sings and it is pretty cute.
This is one of Tim's favorite players, Josh Whitesell, up to bat.
They had fireworks on opening night after the game. They really put on a show. I think they had some difficulties because the crowd thought they were done and started to leave after what looked like the finale but then they started up with more fireworks that were obviously the finale. I tested out a few twilight setting on my 35mm.
Ooooooo...Aaaaaaa!

Looks like you had a nice time together. (I already knew Tim was going to have a good time! LOL) Your camera did an excellant job taking the photos of the fireworks. The blue fireworks colors are so vibrant, I'm impressed. You are so good at keeping your blog updated. It's nice to look and see just what is currently going on in your life. You take care and continue to enjoy your beautiful new home. Love Pat
